Behold the Bubbles

Behold the Bubbles

I really like soft-serve ice cream.  Definitely one of my favorite treats.  And I must have had it at least a couple of thousand times in my life.  However, as extraordinary as that moment must have been, I can’t remember the first time I had it.

That is one of the major blessings of children and grandchildren.  I can distinctly recall the first time I took each one of them to the local parlor to indulge in the frozen delight.  The look on their faces when they took the first bite, the ferociousness with which they attacked the remainder, and sweet sense of satisfaction when they were finished were incredibly and indescribably thrilling…for me as well as for them.

And that is why I just can’t wait for the bubbles to start blowing at the end of a Romp n’ Roll Babies class.  Bubbles are a miracle of nature that we adults have regrettably come to take for granted.  That is a shame, because bubbles are immensely fun and fascinating.  Fortunately, when watching the little ones chase after them, one can’t help but vicariously feel that “first time” thrill all over again each and every time.
