Make a Play Date…for Yourself
If you are taking advantage of Romp n’ Roll’s “Mom’s Morning Out” program, you know that it provides a wonderful opportunity for you to get errands done efficiently and/or get work done without distraction or interruption. But if that’s all you’re using it for, you may be missing another great benefit.
It is nice to see that parents who have enrolled their children in Romp n’ Roll understand and appreciate the fact that in addition to excellent early educational experiences, their kids are having superb recreational and socialization experiences as well. Simply being able to have a good time on a regular basis is important for one’s psychological health and there is nothing more valuable than enjoyable relationships with peers.
Unfortunately, the awesome responsibility of raising children occasionally leads mothers and fathers to neglect their own recreation and socialization. While they experience pride and pleasure knowing their kids are doing well in these areas, they may start feeling overly intense and a little isolated themselves.
So I urge you to use “Mom’s Morning Out” as an opportunity to make a play date for yourself. Connect with other Romp n’ Roll parents and plan to use the time to do something active and enjoyable together. Go bike riding, bird watching, bowling, or whatever. Fun and friendship are just as important for you as they are for your offspring.
