Building Fine Motor Skills While Having Fun with Art!
A fun way to build fine motor skills in early childhood is through art. In Romp n’ Roll’s Art Explorers 2 class, kids practice skills including picking up and manipulating objects such as paint brushes, and exercising the small muscles in their hands through exploration and tactile stations. Weekly themes such as “Colors, Colors Everywhere” also allow children to work on color recognition and mixing. Our kids love the fun and creativity of using a paint brush to paste colored tissue paper on wax paper. And, when they hold their tissue paper creation up to the light, children can see how the colors mix to create new colors. This is just one fun way that kids explore, create, and learn at Romp n’ Roll!
