Marie Simmons, Owner
My favorite sound in the entire world is a baby’s laughter – pure, genuine and contagious. When my husband passed away in 2011, the sound of my son’s laugh was the only thing that could put a smile on my face. It could even make me remember the sound of my own laugh. My son was my happy place, the one thing that kept me going.
Education has always been instrumental in my household, and watching his young mind absorb the world always leaves me in awe. After my world was flipped upside-down, I realized I wasn’t the same person. I had to redefine who I was as a single mother, and corporate America was no longer a fit. I became determined to venture out on my own and work for myself. I wanted to create my own “happy place.”
Fortunately, I stumbled upon Romp n’ Roll at just the right moment and it was love at first sight! The Romp n’ Roll concept aligned perfectly with my business idea and vision for a children’s indoor playground. This is the environment I want to spend my days in, one that is truly filled with positive energy, happiness and laughter.

Kalyca Welch, Assistant Manager / Gym Instructor
Hi, my name is Ms. Kalyca. Although I’ve spent the last 15+ years in the fashion, media and publishing industries I have always had a love children and a desire to watch them learn and grow. Therefore, I have pursued a number of creative endeavors that specifically revolve around children, such as “Custom Crafted Events”, an events company that creates custom events for children, instructing in home arts and crafts classes, and building a website that connects families with area resources. I ended my Corporate career to join Romp n’ Roll team, as I saw it as the ideal place for me to combine my creativity, love for children and passion for building relationships.
Jaleyah Stacy, Birthday Bash Crew Member
Hi, my name is Ms. Jaleyah. I am passionate about working with young children because I have always been made partially responsible, as their eldest sibling, to help ensure their growth and development. My favorite thing to do with my siblings is play, especially helping them to socialize with other children - socialization has been a big role in their lives. In my free time I like to read books, watch movies and go swimming with my siblings and younger family members. My favorite children's hand game is "Miss Mary Mack".
Joyce McCombs, Art Instructor
I love the curiosity, wonderment and energy you get from children. I am nothing more than a child myself, wrapped in adult body. Some of my favorite children's books are, any of the "Winnie the Pooh" stories, "One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish" by Dr. Seuss, and The Berenstain Bears book, "The Big Honey Hunt". When my daughter was little I ran an in-home daycare. When she was of school age (K - 2nd grade), I used to go with her to school most days to volunteer my time. In my spare time I love to sing, practice professional photography, and teach my dog new tricks.
